Description: Jazz Music Library will be the largest and most comprehensive collection of jazz available online--with thousands of jazz artists, ensembles, albums, and genres. At launch, the collection includes works licensed from legendary record labels. The list of artists is enormous, ranging from past greats to musicians performing and recording today, including: Andre Previn, Bix Beiderbecke, Charlie Byrd, Charlie Parker, Chuck Mangione, Count Basie, Dave Brubeck, Dizzie Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Gerry Mulligan, Grover Washington, Jr., John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Rosemary Clooney, Sarah Vaughan, Thelonious Monk, Tony Bennett, and a long list of others. Liner notes to all the albums are included (in PDF format) as well as static URLs to each track and album in the database. Content is added on a regular basis, and exciting new materials will be highlighted on the home page, as well as additional indexing for each album, including detailed instrumentation and performer information. Description: JSTOR is a digitized archive of major research journals in a variety of academic disciplines, many of which date back to the 1800's. JSTOR contains the backfiles of journals; the most recent volumes are two to five years behind the latest issues, depending upon agreements with the journal publishers. UW System has a subscription to the Arts & Sciences I and Arts & Sciences II collections. Coverage: Varies from title to title, but approximately from the 1800s to five years ago.
